Yakult is a fermented milk drink containing a very high concentration of the beneficial bacterium Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Shirota (LcS) strain.
Yakult original and Yakult LIGHT are made fresh in our manufacturing plant in Dandenong South, Victoria. Both products are gluten free and fat free. Yakult is also free from any artificial colours or preservatives.
The Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Shirota (LcS) strain was first discovered by Dr Minoru Shirota, the founder of Yakult. Dr Shirota studied a variety of microorganisms including Lactobacilli, butyric acid bacteria, mould and yeast.
Yakult’s LcS strain has been shown to survive the gastrointestinal tract, positively alter gut microbiota, and have favourable effects on stool consistency with the support of a health claim.
